Knit Effect
In this project I explored knitting in Houdini. I was inspired by the work of Paul Esteves & John Kunz.
I’ve always wondered how Disney made their scarves and sweaters and in this project I took a stab at it. to get the twisting motion I point deformed the knit on to a simulated cloth mesh. Rendering was done in Solaris with Karma and I used the Aces colorspace to see the impact it had on the final result of the renders and let me tell you I'm not switching back.
