CFX + Breakdown
As the title says more cloth CFX examples plus a breakdown of the different techniques used. I did a little comparison between Marvelous and Houdini cloth sims and found that I prefer the look and superior control I have over the overall end result of the Houdini sims. Although Houdini does not even come close to the cloth modeling capacities of Marvelous Designer. There are also the material properties presets that I'm missing in Houdini. You have to make those yourself using stiffness, stretch and plasticity attributes. Some additional controls in this area would be helpful because it does take some trail and error to get it looking like I modeled in Marvelous. But once i got the correct set-up in Houdini I had more control over the end result.

As for the simulation part itself in Marvelous Designer I'm having trouble getting rid of the floaty feeling of the cloth. Whereas in Houdini the cloth behaves as I expect without much hassle.

Safe to say that I have not scratched the surface on all the possibilities that both DCC's provide and further investigation is necessary to understand all the complexities of the programs.

My conclusion is that both software will have a big role in my workflow. Marvelous Designer for apparel modeling and Houdini for simulation and further control over the end result.
